Entrepreneur Josh Cote attended The Duke of Essex Polo Grand Prix and donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital

Now in it’s eight year, the hugely popular Duke of Essex Polo Grand Prix has firmly established itself as part of the British Social Season, making it the finest polo event in the UK. The spectacular event attracted over 8,000 guests including entrepreneur Josh Cote and celebrities Bianca Gascoinge and Dane Bowers. It saw some of the world’s best players compete for the honour of being crowned champion, but it’s wasn’t all just about the polo. An array of VIP marquees, entertainment from international artists and family activities accompanied the sporting event. Yet, it was once the polo had finished when the event really came to life. VIP enclosures were transformed into one off stages with performances from a collection of current and legendary acts.

Taking place on 13th and 14th July, The event was hosted at Hyland’s Park estate, outside Chelmsford for the first time. Gaynes Park Estate in Epping was its home for seven years; however, this year a purpose built International Standard Polo arena was created at the beautiful grade 2 listed Hyland’s Park. The Chelmsford location is now the new home of the annual The Duke of Essex Grand Prix. “We’re looking at striking a genuine balance between a sporting event and social occasion which is one of the reasons to moving to Hyland’s House who offered to accommodate our polo area. The use of the beautiful mansion itself, and of course it does help that the venue is set in a truly stunning setting,” said Mathew McGuan, co-owner of Grand Prix Events.

The event raised a total of £50,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital, and entrepreneur Josh Cote was one of its many contributors. He said, “The Duke of Essex Polo Grand Prix was a fantastic day out, the polo was amazing and it was all for such a great cause.” Josh Cote’s donation will be used towards critical equipment for the hospital.
