Josh Cote, entrepreneur and Managing Director of EA Worldwide Acquisitions, is investing in time management skills after attending Franklyn Covey’s workshop. “Since attending the workshop, I have increased my own productivity and optimised my work-life-balance”, says Josh Cote. Franklyn Covey’s time management workshop is designed to help professionals organise and prioritise their time in order to achieve the maximum productivity. During a recent conference in Barcelona, Josh Cote has encouraged 170 entrepreneurs to sign up for the course. In addition to that, he has implemented Covey’s Time Management Matrix at EA Worldwide Acquisitions and some effective strategies suggested in an article in Success Magazine.
The article describes an eight-step plan and encourages people to use their time more effectively. The first two steps suggest asking key questions to themselves in order to determine what tasks need to be prioritised and what value they have to the individual and the business. “Identifying in what order things need to be resolved is crucial. Often we get stuck with a task which is not very productive as we waste time. Finally, other important things become urgent and the pressure increases”, explains Josh Cote of EA Worldwide Acquisitions. In order to make it easier to decide, the article suggests evaluating the consequences of not doing a specific task and then comparing those to the rewards.
One of the most important things for Josh Cote of EA Worldwide Acquisitions is to write his goals down. “Putting my tasks and objectives on paper makes me accountable for it.” According to the article in Success Magazine, writing down objectives and visualising actions makes it more real and realistic. “We have implemented this technique at EA Worldwide Acquisitions and every morning, we are reviewing our objectives and daily tasks”, says Josh Cote. “Not only that,” he continues, “we compare them again at the end of the day and evaluate what we have achieved and where the obstacles are.” Josh Cote’s solution-orientated approach has driven productivity. “In the past two weeks we have seen a rise in productivity by at least 10 per cent compared to April this year”, explains Josh Cote.
