EA Worldwide Acquisitions Review the Dangers of Not ‘Switching Off’

For the sake of physical and mental wellbeing, everyone needs to switch off and relax once in a while. However a recent study found that for entrepreneurs, taking time away from the office is increasing their stress levels. EA Worldwide Acquisitions review the findings and share the dangers of overworking.

A recent survey conducted by AXA PPP Healthcare reveals that around 86 per cent of Britain’s small business owners keep in contact with their workplace while they are on holiday. Nearly two thirds, 64 per cent of respondents, admit taking important phone calls and answering emails while they are away. Josh Cote, entrepreneur and Managing Director of EA Worldwide Acquisitions, comments on the results: “It is understandable as a business owner to care about your business; nevertheless not taking downtime from work will backfire in the long-run. A holiday is supposed to be a positive experience to switch off and relax.”

According to the study, British small business owners took in average 11 days of holidays in 2014. This is less than half of the holidays their employees take in annual leave. The business owners surveyed agree that concern for their business is the root of such behaviour. In fact, over half, 52 per cent of respondents, claim that contacting their workplace while they are away puts their mind at ease.

Josh Cote of EA Worldwide Acquisitions points out that especially new business owners invest a significant amount of extra time in their business during the start-up process to build the base for their company and reap the rewards later. “This is nothing unusual as an entrepreneur,” explains Josh Cote. “Nevertheless, it is important to implement effective time management from the beginning to make room for things that are important and schedule in some time to completely switch off.” Not allowing any quality time away from work can impact a person’s wellbeing. Josh Cote of EA Worldwide Acquisitions adds: “Being overworked increases stress levels and can trigger health issues and fatigue. In addition to that, it can lead to poor decision-making, which affects workplace morale and causes friction. This may have a negative impact on productivity and damage your business in the long-run.

As an experienced business owner, Josh Cote provides advice and guidance to other entrepreneurs and supports them to successfully run their business. He recommends implementing holidays as a reward after achieving a specific goal. “By doing so, business owners feel a sense of achievement which should give them piece of mind for a few days to completely switch off,” explains Josh Cote of EA Worldwide Acquisitions. Furthermore, business owners must learn to trust their co-workers. “Giving them more responsibilities will create an inspirational environment where people can personally develop and feel that they are needed,” continues Josh Cote.

EA Worldwide Acquisitions are one of the UK’s leading outsourced sales and marketing companies. The London-based firm is always careful to schedule in time to refresh and refocus, so they can continue to thrive. Josh Cote urges business owners to delegate some of their responsibilities and put their trust in others, so they can take some time for themselves and focus on the success and growth opportunities of their business
